task c(iii)
Task description from OCR:
While you are working on the project you must complete a diary or log. This diary or log should
include:
• a full list of all tasks undertaken as part of the delivery of the project
• an assessment of your contribution to the success of the task
• the skills used in meeting the requirement of the task
• an assessment of how your skills needed to extend to meet the needs of the task – your discussion
of your skills needs to include your use of working with others as well as ICT skills.

Advice:

In this section of the diary you must identify all issues that have arisen no matter how banal they may seem. You should identify the issue and describe what affect this had on the project. Explain what you did to resolve the problem if it was a short-term (day-to-day / minor) issue or what you will do to resolve the problem if it is a long-term issue.

N.B If no long-term issues are identified the maximum mark that can be awarded for the diary is 10.

Examples of Day-to-Day Issues
-
Computer crashed (e.g. the computer crashed during this task. I simply had to re-boot the computer and was able to log back on with no further problems. I had saved 5 minutes before this happened so only had to re-write a small amount of text on the welcome page)

Examples of longer term issues:
- Falling Behind – how will you catch up, teacher off, Losing Documents,
- Software Issues (e.g. you thought something would be easy to do but it has turned out to be more complex. How will you overcome this problem? Has it set you back by a few days? How will you catch up?
- Going too Fast (too far ahead of planned dates in project plan)
- Being let down by someone you were relying on
- Computer at home is brokend

Suggested column headings- Date | Issue | Effect on Project | Resolution | Future Improvements
e.g. 1 Date | Graphic in wrong format | Can't update template with correct grapic | Used photoshop to convert to GIF | Make sure I use correct format when creating graphics from now on
e.g. 2 Date | System will not recognise data pen | Can't bring in button files created at home | Saved work over the internet to C2K | Will do this from now on

Exemplar work:
Candidate NH (spreadsheets) The candidate has dealt with a complex task and shown that they have been organised in doing so. There is also evidence that the candidate is aware of longer term implications of their work – 4 th February is a basic example, 6 th February includes a clear reference to schedule and 7 th February comments on losing time. This is sufficient for a mark towards the bottom of mark band 3. 12/15
Candidate AA (websites) There is some evidence of complexity for task ciii, but this is low level. The candidate gives the impression that they have approached this in an organised manner, but the lack of complexity of the tasks defines this as a lower mark band 2 piece of work. There is no consideration of future issues. 6/15
