Task description from OCR:

Produce an evaluation of your performance in relation to planning the project:
Once you have completed the project, you will need to report on how well the project ran, what were its strengths and weaknesses and how well you worked with others. Your report should also suggest improvements to the project. You should collect feedback from users in order to allow you to make informed comments about your project and the role that you played.

Advice:
This is best exemplified by indicating the type of questions that students should answer in their evaluation. It should be stressed that these are not closed questions but topics for discussion.

Mark band 1

What did you do to create your plan?
What would you do differently next time?

Mark band 2

What worked well in the way you planned?
What did not go well in the creation of your plan?
Give some suggestions as to how you could improve your planning on a future project – there will be no links between the weaknesses identified and any improvements suggested.

Mark band 3

What worked well in the way you planned?
What did not go well in the creation of your plan?
What have you learnt about the process of planning?
Did you include all necessary stages?
Did you give enough detail?
Were the timescales adequate?
Were tasks planned in the correct order?
Did you take account of problems and revise your planning accordingly?
How would you overcome any weaknesses in your planning you have identified?
How would this make things better?
There must be a clear link between the identified weaknesses and suggestions for improvement.

PLEASE READ THIS

Exemplar work:
Candidate CH (multimedia) covers the planning well. There is clear analysis of what went well, as well as what did not. The ‘how to improve’ section lets the work down, as this could be in more depth. A low to mid mark in mark band 3 is appropriate. 10/12
The evaluations of candidate AA (websites) have been included as they are typical of the descriptive and non-analytical nature of these tasks when completed by an E grade candidate. Each is a basic discussion of how things went and is lacking in any form of evaluation. A mark in mark band 1 or the very bottom of mark band 2 is all that can be awarded here for each of the three tasks e, f and g. 4/12
Candidate LD’s (publishing) work has been included as it shows how work similar to that of candidate AA at E grade can be developed slightly to move these tasks into mark band 2. Each report, though still lacking in detail and quality, has the degree of critical evaluation required to move the work into mark band 2. However, the lack of detail means that a mark at the lower end of the mark band is appropriate for each of the three tasks. 5/12
Marking:
e.1
e.2
e.3
You comment on your actions and role in planning your project and identify areas for improvement. You include analysis on your own performance by identifying strengths and weaknesses in your planning, with some suggestions for improvement to the overall process. You include analysis on your own performance by identifying strengths and weaknesses in your planning, and use this analysis to show how you will address these issues to be more effective in the future.
