task c(i)
Task description from OCR:
While you are working on the project you must complete a diary or log. This diary or log should
include:
• a full list of all tasks undertaken as part of the delivery of the project
• an assessment of your contribution to the success of the task
• the skills used in meeting the requirement of the task
• an assessment of how your skills needed to extend to meet the needs of the task – your discussion
of your skills needs to include your use of working with others as well as ICT skills.

Advice:

The diary must be separate from the initial plan and must be ongoing – there should be no evidence of ‘reverse engineering’, ie retrospectively making changes. Monitoring and revision of plans may take place but these should be part of this task and separate from the initial plans produced for task b.
The diary or log may take any form, providing students can demonstrate the three elements of this task.
For c(i) at mark band 1, students will either develop or extend their range of ICT skills, ie they will develop the skills they have or extend their range of skills by learning new ones. At mark band 2, students will both develop existing skills and extend their range of skills by learning new ones. At mark band 3, students must use their initiative – asking the teacher is not showing initiative, although finding out that someone else has the required expertise and asking them might well do.

Suggested column headings- Date | Skill Needed | Source of Information | Skills developed

Exemplar work:
Candidate NH (spreadsheets) has provided clear evidence of the use of non-directed research. This is evidenced in the task sheets at the front of the diary and further evidenced in the diary itself; 1 st February being one of a few examples. However, these would need to be more extensive to be awarded higher marks in mark band 3. 9/10
Candidate AA (websites) is working very much at the E boundary. The diary as a whole, although structured well, does not include the detail that would be necessary to achieve highly in this section.
The diary includes evidence that skills have been extended and developed, but there is no indication that the candidate has used initiative in doing so. This limits the mark for task ci to mark band 2. 6/10
